We The People Congress
Protecting Freedom through the First Amendment Right to Petition

Welcome to We The People Congress Inc.

Mission Statement

The We the People Congress is a non-profit, membership-based assembly of patriotic Americans dedicated to “institutionalizing” citizen vigilance and governmental accountability.

The Mission of the We The People Congress is fourfold:

1) to institutionalize the local distribution of educational material that the People are not receiving from any other source – the history, meaning, effect and significance of every provision of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America and their State Constitutions; and

2) to institutionalize the independent review by the People of the actions of their local, state and federal government officials – viz a viz the provisions of their State and Federal Constitutions and laws pursuant thereto; and

3) to institutionalize, pursuant to the First Amendment’s Petition Clause, petitioning for redress of grievances, particularly violations by government officials of the will of the People as expressed in their State and Federal Constitutions, and

4) to institutionalize the People’s Right of enforcement of their Rights in the absence of a meaningful response by government to a proper First Amendment Petition for Redress of a Grievance.

The We The People Congress (WTP Congress) has been established for the purpose of developing in the public forum, politics aside, a constituency committed to a nationwide, pro-active, non-violent, mass-movement, with the goal of achieving ordered Liberty through citizen vigilance and government accountability. As an organized force of “constitution defenders,” the WTP Congress is organizing State by State, with a fully-manned “Citizen Vigilance Center” in every State, staffed with legal talent and the skill sets necessary to manage the state-wide organization.

We recognize that popular sovereignty as a social and political force is a fundamental cornerstone of our constitutional Republic. The Congress is committed to achieving its goals of restoring Freedom and Constitutional Order through the exercise of popular sovereignty by all possible non-violent means including reliance on the rights secured by the Petition Clause.

America stands at a crossroad. In our lifetime, we may witness either the demise or resurrection of our Constitutional Republic and its promise of individual Liberty. The WTP Congress is uniquely committed to serving the 4th branch of government - THE PEOPLE, by institutionalizing citizen vigilance over policy adopted by the other three branches wherever that policy is being adopted. If and when government at any level is seen to have stepped outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its power by the terms of our State and Federal Constitutions, the WTP Congress and it's State branches will be there to effectively repel the forces of tyranny by petitioning the government for redress and enforcing their rights in the absence of a meaningful response.

General Objectives

To develop a network of informed and responsible citizens, State-by-State, capable of holding public officials at all levels accountable to our State and Federal Constitutions, with full reliance on the rights of the people and obligations of the government that are secured by the Petition Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and the Petition Clause now contained in each of the fifty State Constitutions.

2025 Objectives

Establish a branch of the WTP Congress in each State, including a Board of Directors consisting of a President, a Treasurer and a corporate Secretary – each a resident of the State, and four additional Directors each serving on the Board of Directors of the We the People Congress, Inc.

Have the Boards of Directors utilize the 50 web sites already created and open bank accounts in each State.

Adopt a budget for each State, to be implemented when 2.5 percent of the State’s population over the age of 18 become supporting members, each contributing $25 per year on a recurring basis.

Begin the process of securing the “army” of supporting members in each State.

Designate a State Coordinator, Regional Coordinators and County Coordinators and begin choosing and educating the State’s Constitution Monitors, all to be hired when the budget is met.

Select a location for the State’s Citizen Vigilance Center to be constructed and fully manned by said legal talent and additional staff with the skill sets necessary to manage the state-wide organization when the budget is met.

Quote of the Week

If money is wanted by Rulers who have in any manner oppressed the People, they may retain it until their grievances are redressed, and thus peaceably procure relief, without trusting to despised petitions or disturbing the public tranquility.

--Journals of the Continental Congress, 1:105-113
